Project description (in brief):
- Project site: the project has been carried out in 16 districts of 5 provinces (Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, Hung Yen, and Hai Duong).
- Approximate 5,000 women using contraceptive methods of Quinacrine and IUD have been observed continuously to evaluate the rate of pregnancy and incidence of complications for 8 years.
Practical work done by the institution’s staff:
- Conducting the training on survey skills
- Conducting the annual interviews to collect data
- Collecting medical records for identification of health problems
- Performing the information collection from the report system with pregnancy tests done on all women suspected with pregnant
- Doing analysis of annual data
- Writing report

- The project was implemented in 12 central hospital, Ha Noi and 15 provincial hospital of 12 provinces in northern Vietnam.
- Collect information related to gynaecologic cancer of 1200 gynaecologic cancer cases and 3600 non-cancer controls. Interview to identify factors related with gynaecologic cancer.

- Conducted in 11 UNFPA-supported provinces of the Sixth Country Program.
- Assessed the physical infrastructure, equipment for provision of health care services at provincial hospitals, MCH centers, district hospitals, CHCs.
- Conducted a KAP assessment on provision of RH for women, adolescents and health staff that provide services.
- Conducted a KAP assessment on RH, HIV prevention of adolescents, women and men in the 11 provinces.

- The project was conducted in 8 districts of provinces Thai Binh, Yen Bai, Gia Lai and An Giang (including 4 control districts).
- Conducted various interventions to reduce perinatal mortality, such as: supplying medical equipment and instruments, conducting the training for health staff from district to commune and village level, including traditional midwives.
- Collected information on live births and perinatal deaths during the time of the study
